Spring is all about new life. And Springtime in the garden is the most exciting time of all. The first signal that Spring is coming to the farm is the almond tree slowly blossoming, while it is still cold.

In our orchard, when Spring finally arrives there is a sea of apricot blossoms, then waves of plum, apple and pear blossoms, never all together but gradually filling the trees with flowers. The garden comes alive with sage, thyme and rosemary in a purple-flowered profusion. And French tarragon tendrils push back up through the earth after having lain dormant through Winter- I hope you all enjoy the recipes for this most magic of seasons! -MB.
